ACCOMODATION-Reconciling the irreconcilable forces of TRANSFORMATION and PRESERVATION is no easy task. In the
past, war has normally been the tool of achieving some form of accomodation.With skilled negotiatos and mediators using conceptual tools such as Accomodation Dnyamics, developed by G. Charles
Andersen, M.A., there is some basis for being optimistic that thorny issues can be worked out without resort to violence. Some of the issues that need to be

DIVERSITY: |
|

Diversity is seemingly always both a strength and a weakness, depending on the level of trust and communication that exist between parties. Harnessing
diversity allows for the inclusion of multiple perspectives, which allows for more ways to see and solve problems. Depending upon the nature of the expectations attached to those perspectives, however, can demand a
great deal of compromise and constant threat of break downs in the process.. |

LEGITIMACY: |

One of the surest ways to cause a breakdown in the accomodation process is to de-legitimize the needs, perspectives, or validity of other persons or points
of view. Trust and legitimacy are ultimately gifts that cannot truly be earned but only granted by choice. Accepting others as valid within an adversarial context is usually quite an accomodation challenge. |

MUTUALITY: |

One of the inescapable conclusions of the World Impact Axis is the need to accomodate the mutuality of all of us existing on one planet. Everyone has their
legitimate, diverse needs and perspectives, yet no one has the right to take everyone else down with them. A good example of this was the Cold War. Mutual Assured Destruction, though effective was insane. If the U.S.
and Soviet Union had engaged in thermo-nuclear war, they would have taken nearly everyone else on the planet with them. We are all in this together. We all have a stake in the outcomes. We are the world... |
